My Electra Omega X240   Pictures

Sorry, this guitar was sold in it's 2nd run on eBay.  Feel free to use any of my original pictures. Thanks for looking.

For your consideration, I'm forced to sell my Electra Omega X240. This hardly played guitar was a Christmas gift back in 1982. It's great condition can be attributed to the fact that I never gigged with this guitar (I played base in groups) and it never left my house except on moving days. Guitar players and collectors won't want to pass up this chance to acquire this well kept vintage guitar. First some pics, then more about it's traits and history:

The Electra Omega X240 is a Gibson Les Paul copy with 5-way tone spectrum circuit, rosewood fretboard, antique sunburst. It was made by St. Louis Music Electra Guitars somewhere between 1978 and 1981. Over the years guitarists and collectors have grown an appreciation for this fine instrument.

Searching the internet for information on this vintage guitar I stumbled on a few web sites that paid tribute to the Electra line of guitars and after reading more about this treasure I never knew I had, I acquired a better appreciation for this guitar. I will send you links (read below). According to Neal whose collection of guitars in his Guitar Gallery features a few Electra guitars, including an Omega X240, says of the tone: "The tonal capabilities of this thing are not easily matched. The toggles are coil cut and the rotary puts the pickups in single, both parallel in phase, both parallel out of phase, and I believe both in series in phase. I still need to confirm this but going on what it sounds like that's my guess. I can't say enough about this guitar. ...  The pickups squealed like a herd of angry pigs but dipping them fixed that pronto. They have excellent warm tone yet bright, and are very harmonic responsive. Sustain is excellent, and the action easily puts a stock LP to shame"  Some say it sounds like the Les Paul it was model after ... and then some.

The guitar was stored away in my various closets, tucked away in  it's case, always  in an upright position. The guitar has a very sturdy, plush lined case, which is included.  There are a few nicks and dings on the case, bit that's to be expected.  There aren't any deep belt buckle scratches (I played this guitar sitting down mostly). There are a few light scratches in the back, but nothing that broke the finish. The only nick is once small chip (less than 1/8th inch) in the top of the peg head, one scratch top the right of the lower toggle and the minor wear on the back. Excuse the sun's glare and the polish remnants I thought I'd removed. See pics below:

Here's a few more pics:

I don't have the serial number/model sticker that the guitar should have came with. Never knew it had one until I visited Mike's site (who I thank for the tone spectrum circuitry chart). As you write I will send you a link to my website that will have more pictures (thumbnails that open to larger high resolution pictures). I'll send you links to a couple of Electra sites (too) in case you want to learn more about the line. One more pic, then the business stuff ...

Bidding is open to U.S. and Canadian bidders. Last time I attempted to auction this guitar the price was much higher. 18 people had this guitar on their watch list. Let's not let eBay to further degrade the value of this collectable, which sold for hundreds more a couple of years ago.  Don't hesitate ... it might be gone. Canadian bidders who wish to purchase can write and I'll look up the shipping charge for you, then remove the immediate payment option. Payment for this auction or purchase is PayPal only. Shipping will be U.P.S. and can be determined using the calculator.  Congratulations if buying, or good luck if bidding!
