Greetings and welcome to a special web page that will introduce you to the 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitar I had for sale. Not many guitars or bass guitars up for sale merit their own web page, but this is a Rick ... so let's get on with the tour. What? Yes, the bass has been ...

Sold

The bass sold only hours after being posted on eBay, only minutes after 4 bidders were pre-approved to bid.  Selling price was  $1850.00 + shipping. The rest is now just history. Read if you like ....

When I'm thinking about buying something, the first thing I want to know is theprice.

This bass guitar has an starting price of  $1750 firm between 3/10 & 3/14 (5 PM). If the bass remains unsold, the bass  will go on eBay on the evening of 3/14 for an opening bid price of $1650.  Local South Florida speculators will have a first look as the ad will break in the Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel at the same time (3/10).           This bass guitar is in pretty good condition. A few dings, some serious belt wear on the back side and has never been modified or "worked." Everything on it is totally original. The serial number is MD 1182 (M for 1973, D for April) and as you noticed from the picture on the right, it has a Fireglo finish. Rare enough for you? View some pics, then  read some more ....

Click on these "thumbnail" pictures to enlarge them. I've left them at high resolution, so mercy on those (like myself) still on dial-up connections. Check back here occasionally as I plan on updating the photos soon. Place mouse over picture for explanation of each photo. And remember to click to enlarge. Ready?
